Smersh Live!! They said it couldn’t be done! They said it wouldn’t be done! They said they weren’t arsed! Yet they still came to the Everyman Cinema, Kings Cross to watch Michael Winner’s 1990 opus Bullseye! and enjoy a live podcast! Yes, it’s a film we covered before, but it sure made for a great screening, and everyone who attended will almost certainly never be the same again. Joining John were Paul Litchfield and David Reed, who can be found on Twitter as @MrPLitchfield and @MrDavidReed respectively
It’s Side Special time again, and this week we will be laughing at the lighter side of kidnapping and finding out just what would happen if One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest was a road movie – yes – it’s The Cannonball Run. Joining me, and HIM, to sort the fathers from the mothers is superb comedian, writer and actor Paul Litchfield

Hosted by writer, author and Bond enthusiast John Rain, SMERSH POD is the latest (and only) cult James Bond podcast, celebrating all things 007. Join us at Everyman Kings Cross for the first Live SMERSH POD event and get the chance to become part of the podcast.
We will be joined by John Rain and his guests, comedy actors Paul Litchfield and David Reed, who will be discussing and dissecting the Bond canon live on stage.
We will also be screening the 1990 comedy-crime-classic BULLSEYE! Starring Michael Caine (bringing his best American accent since Cider House Rules) and Roger Moore (doing some excellent accents of his own) as two con-artists who look staggeringly like a pair of renowned scientists – there will be hijinks, kilts and jokes that never get anywhere near the middle of the dart board.
It’s Side Special time again, and this week we’re putting together a crack team of moody middle aged men to spring an OAP with vast eyebrows from the world’s most secure prison/building site. Yes – it’s only bloody WILD GEESE 2! And joining my crack team of commandLOLS to fix another fine HESS we’ve gotten into are a right pair of jokers (comedians): Al Murray, who can be found on twitter as @almurray, and Simon Evans, who can be located as @TheSimonEvans
HIGHLANDER! Ahh-ah! He’ll save every one of us!” Sorry, wrong theme tune. It’s the film about the immortal Scottish swordsman battling the last of his immortal opponents, with help from Sean Connery as the chief metallurgist to King Charles V of Spain (or is it Egypt?) It’s a grand epic so rich in pseudo-historical nonsense that only an ACTUAL HISTORIAN could do it justice. So joining John to cut off your head is Greg Jenner, who can be found on Twitter as @greg_jenner.
This time it’s personal, again, as Daniel Craig’s grumpy spy takes on the bloke from No Country For Old Men, using only an Aston Martin he absolutely definitely shouldn’t own and an old DVD of Home Alone (for survival tips). John Rain is joined by Robin Ince (The Infinite Monkey Cage) – who can be found on Twitter as @robinince – to discuss the 23rd Bond, and possibly duet on Adele’s biggest hit about apple crumble.
“Then maybe you shouldn’t be living heeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrre!” John Rain tackles the 1988 film starring Bronhom – the man who would be Bond (and then was Bond, so don’t cry) – with the man who gave Taffin a second chance at life. It’s Dr Buckles himself, the Emperor of Podland Adam Buxton, who can be found on Twitter as @AdamBuxton.
